Recently, one of my groups took part in a project called "Cities around the world". The students were expected to choose a city, research about it and make a presentation to the class. If I am not mistaken, my students chose to talk about Dublin, Paris, Dubai, Forks, London and Havana. The presentations were very good (Congratulations, guys!). Well, if I had to choose two cities to talk about, I'd choose San Francisco (USA) and Santiago (Chile). Fortunately, I had the opportunity to visit these cities in the last two years (to study English and Spanish) and for sure I had one the best experiences of my life! Santiago showed me the beauty of a country where Spanish is the language of the people, the poets and the politicians. The simplicity of the city is constrasted with the spetacular mountains of Cordillera de los Andes. Likewise, San Francisco is unique. The street artists, the musicians and even the beggars make the city be a cultural place. San Francisco and Santiago are romantic and both revolucionary!
